MOBILIZEU

A rapidly diminishing natural environment and climate change are the most pressing problems plaguing the world of today, as such we as citizens of this world are called upon to work hard and ensure a healthy and sustainable future by carrying out activities that support a green environment. MOBILIZE U is a programme designed to work with university students in relation to environmental activism for a period of four weeks marking the coming Earth Day on April 22^nd  2012.

OGCEYOD Cameroon has been chosen as the Regional Coordinator for MOBILIZE U in Cameroon so has decided to work with three state Universities; the University of Buea, the University of Bamenda and the University of Yaoundé 1 wherein activities to reflect a green environment will be carried out. These activities include: tree planting, art work (painting), theatre, stage performance (dance), sensitization march and a campus cleanup campaign.

Consultative meetings have so far commenced with the head of department for environmental science at the University of Buea with positive reactions to the upcoming program. The head of department has already contacted the student president of the environmental club to mobilize the students to actively participate in all the activities to be carried out.
